What are Sea-Legs?

Sea-Legs are the world's original portable hydraulic pontoon lift. The product consists of two hydraulically operated lift modules (or Legs) that are attached to the bottom of the pontoon deck. The Legs lift and hold the boat at any height, up to six feet, from the lake or river bottom. When fully retracted under the deck, your pontoon is fully functional until you get to your next destination. To secure your boat, simply extend the Sea-Legs.

How long has Sea-Legs been around?

Sea-Legs were first installed commercially in 1994 and are protected by a U.S. patent issued in 1996. There are currently more than 10,000 sets of Sea-Legs in operation in the U.S. & Canada.

What type of boats can Sea-Legs be installed on?

Sea-Legs will fit on most 18 to 30 foot standard, new or pre-owned, pontoon boats. They are designed to optimally function on pontoons that have an 8.5' wide deck and 25" pontoons; however, 8' wide decks and smaller diameter pontoons can be accommodated. Sea-legs also has a Triple tube version that works on most all triple tube pontoons 22-35 ft. in length.

Where can I use Sea-Legs?

One of the best benefits of Sea-Legs is the wide variety of applications that they can be used in. Raise your Sea-Legs and go, lower your Sea-Legs and park - at your dock, sandbars, restaurants, visiting neighbors, shore fishing, getting gas and more. No more worrying about making sure the boat fenders or dock lines stay in place. Simply hit the button, raise your pontoon, walk right off the dock.

Will Sea-Legs work on all lake bottoms?

Yes. Sea-Legs are being used on all types of lake and river bottom surfaces. Whether you have sand, rocks or "muck", each independent leg has approximately 3000 lbs of extension and retraction power. Getting stuck is not an issue. Your local Authorized Sea-Legs dealer may have further information for you including recommendations and referrals from other Sea-Legs' owners in your area.

What is the lift height?

Sea-Legs will lift the deck of your pontoon six (6) feet, measured from the bottom of the pontoon deck to the lake or river bottom. In order to take the buoyancy off of the pontoons you need to be in approximately 4 ½ - 5 feet water. To have your pontoons fully out of the water, a depth of 4 feet or less is required. Sea-Legs Also offers an extended 8ft version. In order to take the buoyancy off of the pontoons you need to be in approximately 6 ½ - 7 feet water. To have your pontoons fully out of the water, a depth of 6 feet or less is required.

How do I keep my boat level?

The front and back Sea-Legs can be operated independently or simultaneously via the remote control or manual toggle switches. To compensate for different sloped lake bottoms, adjust the front or back height as needed.

Will Sea-Legs affect my boat's performance?

Sea-Legs tuck up to the pontoon deck bottom, meaning they do not drag in the water as you drive and the weight is evenly distributed throughout the length of the pontoon boat.

How are Sea-Legs powered? Do I need an extra battery?

Sea-Legs' runs off a standard marine-grade boat battery. There is no need for additional power other than the battery you use to start your boat normally. We highly recommend a battery with at least 850 cold cranking amps.

Note: Sea-Legs are fun to show-off to neighbors and friends, so keep a mental note of the amount of use and how much you run your engine to naturally recharge your battery, as you would if you had your radio on for an extended period of time.

Do I need to do anything to winterize Sea-Legs?

No. We advise that you retract your Sea-Legs fully, winterize your motor and store it as you normally would on blocks or on a trailer. There is no need to do anything extra to winterize Sea-Legs.

Where can I get Sea-Legs or see them in action?

Sea-Legs are sold through Authorized Sea-Legs dealers. Please use our Dealer Locator to find a dealer near you. Although you may find prices vary slightly in different market areas, we strongly recommend that you purchase your Sea-Legs from your local Authorized Dealer. Your local dealer can offer you the most benefits in terms of customer service and warranty. The value of these benefits usually exceeds any savings gained from purchasing outside your market area.

Can I install Sea-Legs myself?

No. In order for your Sea-Legs warranty to be in effect, Sea-Legs must be installed by an Authorized Sea-Legs dealer.

What is the Sea-Legs warranty?

When installed by an Authorized Dealer, Sea-Legs' carry a two-year limited warranty. The first year covers parts and labor, the second year parts only. Your Sea-Legs dealer submits the Limited Warranty Form on your behalf.

How do I purchase?

In most cases when purchasing a new pontoon you can role the Sea-Legs into the total boat purchase. Talk to your local dealer for more details.
